About Us
Teens Tutor Teens is a 501(c)3 that gives 100% free tutoring services to those in need. We chose the name “Teens Tutor Teens” because it is an internal event for the non-profit. Teens Tutor Teens is built upon the wish for high school peers to succeed in the school system. Education is found to be an important element in life in deciding the role the student will have. In order to ensure the best for students, Teens Tutor Teens has implemented leadership and community service to Teens who need aid achieving academic success. Teens can receive free tutoring from other teens who have proven to be academically exceptional in their community. The mission is to provide other teens with the chance to go and thrive at college and to start off life on the right foot.
The Communities We Serve
Teens Tutor Teens is proud to be a member of the Metro Atlanta community, pulling high school students attending schools in Gwinnett, Fulton, Forsyth, and other counties. Within metro Atlanta, especially in the suburban region, there are a mix of underserved schools as well as affluent schools. Therefore, the community that we serve has a heterogeneous mixture of students from both of these types of schools so that we can diversity the perspectives by which we are influenced, enabling us to better serve others. There are many different educational backgrounds among high school students in the communities we serve, consisting of people from a variety of cultures and environments. There are different areas that are centers for certain ethnic groups and students, but they all jointly work together to better the community and actively help others at their lowest points. However, we do want to primarily target students from underfunded schools because we believe these events can carve out hope in the unfortunate environments that they have endured. Furthermore, we want to give back to the community by providing audience members with engaging speakers from the area that have been very successful, largely in part due to the wonderful community present.
In addition to this, Teens Tutor Teens is opening chapters across the United States. We have established areas in California, Georgia, Virginia, and Texas. We also have tutors outside of the United States, who we are working with to hopefully create chapters in their countries.
